API Playground

A form that builds an API request, sends it with your key, and shows exactly what came back — so the first call you write in code is not the first call you make.

What it is for

Under Developer ToolsAPI Playground you can try either API without leaving the app: choose the API, paste your key, fill in the request, and send it. The response is shown as the service returned it — status, headers and body — with the request alongside as code in curl, JavaScript, Python or C#, ready to copy into your own project.

Sending a request

  1. 1

    Pick the API

The two tabs are Instant Snap API, which captures any URL you give it, and Auto Schedule API, which triggers a page you have already scheduled. Each uses its own kind of key.
  2. 2

    Paste your key

A key’s secret is shown only once, so the playground cannot pick it for you — paste it into the key field. It is not saved. Create one under Developer ToolsAPI Keys first if you have none. The field tells you if you pasted the other API’s key.
  3. 3

Fill in the request and send

For Instant Snap, only the URL is required; everything else falls back to the published defaults, and the Use template chips fill in common requests. For the Auto Schedule API, choose the schedule to trigger from your list, or paste its ID.
  4. 4

    Read the response

The same envelope your code will receive, with the capture shown beside it when there is one to show. Earlier requests stay in a list on the page while you work.

It is real

ValueMeaning
It countsA playground call is a real call: it is metered against your plan, appears on the Instant Snap API page, and counts against your plan's API rate limit.
It deliversA request that names an S3 bucket, or a triggered schedule with a destination, delivers exactly as it would from code.
It fires webhooksAny webhook subscribed to the event is called.

Use a test page

Point the playground at a page of your own while you are experimenting. Every call is a real capture.
